As one of Ireland’s most iconic hospitality destinations, Kilkea Castle operates year-round with significant energy demands across hotel accommodation, restaurants, conference facilities, leisure amenities and estate operations.
To support its sustainability objectives and reduce long-term electricity costs, Kilkea Castle partnered with EnergyServ to deliver a large-scale commercial solar PV installation designed specifically for the operational requirements of the estate.
EnergyServ designed and installed a 90.24 kWp solar PV system that integrates seamlessly with the property’s existing infrastructure while maintaining the visual integrity expected of a premium hospitality venue.
The installation now generates over 88,000 kWh of renewable electricity annually, reducing reliance on imported grid electricity, lowering carbon emissions and improving long-term energy resilience.
This project demonstrates how renewable energy can be successfully integrated into complex hospitality environments while supporting both commercial performance and sustainability goals.
